return to Judge Susan Rankin

Court secrecy should be rare
JUDICIOUS
When The Miami Herald revealed the existence in several South Florida judicial circuits of secret dockets - often involving files related to prominent figures in the community - Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice R. Fred Lewis was appalled. . . . "I almost swallowed my tongue," he told The Herald. "To have such hiding occur - that's not America, is it?" . . .

                                                                              Good Grief!     In Dallas he'd have to swallow!

I wonder if the Miami Herald might like to have a chat with Dallas Morning News..that is if they can clear a path through B.M. Rankin's piles of cash.

How much does it cost to own the news?  To keep documents off the computer and out of the files?  To protect a Bush appointee from criminal charges (you helped your girlfriend HIDE the kids from DAD??? what were you thinking?), you refuse to let people talk so they don't get on the record and threaten them with contempt if they do? you don't let the jury hear the evidence.  You're a high maintenance Rankin.  In California we just threw a Judge off the bench for fixing tickets (Santa Clara County).  I guess in Dallas they throw him a dinner party.
